TWC Speed Test

• This test will measure the speed between the computer and the Internet

When using TWC.com/SpeedTest their servers will send a temporary file to the user’s computer to test download speed, then the file will be sent back from the user’s computer to test upload speed and diagnostics.  This high-end speed test is offered by Times Warner Cable and speeds will be measured in “Megabits per second”.  Megabits per second is a term used when referring to data transfer speeds and one megabit equals one million bits (A four-minute iTunes song, for example, is about four megabytes… With a 10Mbps connection, you can download 20 songs in 60 seconds… With a 100Mbps connection, you can download 200 songs in 60 seconds).  Those who take the test and are unhappy with the results will want to consider upgrading their Internet speed.  Those who do not want to upgrade can troubleshoot your Internet connection and learn about factors that can affect the speed of Internet connections.  Any questions in regards to the TWC Speed Test can be directed to 1-800-892-4357 (this number can also be used to ask questions about upgrades).  Customers who work at home and depend on quick Internet speeds will want to cut to the chase and upgrade to the 100 Mbps Internet package which is the fastest and most reliable network available via Spectrum.

How to start the TWC Speed Test

• Drink a hot cup of herbal tea as it will help the user relax during this trying process
• Connect the computer directly to the router or modem
• Limit the amount of devices accessing the Internet connection (too many devices may slow down the speed and provide an inaccurate result)
